Via Quinnipiac University:

American voters say 48 - 35 percent they want their state to pass an immigration law similar to Arizona's and by an overwhelming 76 - 12 percent they say that plans by those opposed to the law to boycott Arizona are a bad idea, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Voters approve 51 - 31 percent of the Arizona law; think 45 - 36 percent it will reduce illegal immigration and want 66 - 26 percent immigration reform to move in the direction of stricter enforcement rather than integrating immigrants into American society, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University survey finds.

Also notable:

82% of independents and 70% of Hispanics consider the boycott a "bad idea."

59% of respondents, including 44% of Hispanics, consider illegal immigration a "very serious problem."  Another 30% of Hispanics consider illegal immigration a "somewhat serious problem."

70% of independents, and 44% of Hispanics, believe immigration reform should focus on "stricter enforcement" of the law.  47% of Hispanics believe immigration reform should focus instead on "integrating illegal immigrants."

57% of independents, and 34% of Hispanics, approve of Arizona's new immigration law.  26% of independents and 54% of Hispanics disapprove of the new law.

37% of Hispanics would like for their own state to adopt a law similar to Arizona's new law.

Citizens of Arizona, you and your Governor are Rock Stars!!! I wish Texas would do the same!!!!! You are a wonderful example and inspiration. Stay the course and WE CAN GET OUR COUNTRY BACK ON TRACK!! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER PATRIOTS!!!

Please vote for a REAL Conservative in '10 & '12. WE MUST STOP THE SPENDING!

Let's send the detached politicians in DC a strong message in 2010.
by Emma  2010-06-02 18:23:16
NO, NO, NO, WE MUST SPEND MORE in making more people illegal and prosecuting them so they have to charge less for their work without voting. We should also change the Mexican illegal names of Texas and Arizona for truthful American names such as Reagania or Bushland.
by flash  2010-06-02 19:14:50
Emma are you an illegal or just in a ultra liberal fog?
by Dani Riner  2010-06-03 11:58:00
I am a liberal that supports the law, shes an illegal.
by liz rochford  2010-06-03 12:37:23
thank you Dani Riner for your insight. i'm sure you know a high percentage of liberals respect this law and what it's trying to do. also, what illegals or their antiAmerican sheep like poor little greedy emma don't get is that it's the same law as the federal law our president is mostly ignoring and were it enforced at that level, there would be no reson for our having it at state level. either way - she'd be out on her can back to wherever she's from and that's why she's a whiny little...
by debbie  2010-06-03 12:04:19
Emma you gave yourself up as a died in the wool Dem. Do you not realize that what you are asking of Arizona is to go bankrupt, put up with rape, destruction of private property and billions of dollars of drugs being smuggled into the US from Mexico? How could a sane person support something like that? Do you realize that Mexicos own rules governing anyone illegal coming into their country are so strict that you could and would be locked up for years without ever being allowed to contact a lawyer? Thank God this country is filled with more sane people than nuts like you. The polls say that better than 70% of the US residents not only support AZ but want their own states to adopt the same law. Thank God.
by Dani  2010-06-03 12:06:39
Instead of wasting money in keeping them in our jails and providing programs like medi-cal - we should just turn around and spend that cash on getting rid of them. SO no new source of cash has to be come up with. Problem solved, now pull the troops from Iraq and other Bosnia, Germany and place them at the border.
by Charles Lee  2010-06-16 00:48:04
Get it on Lynn, I'm behind you 100% !

If we abandon enforcement of laws thru anarchy we become a third world nation
by Eli  2010-06-02 16:35:30
AZ is state to mirror in their strength in protecting their LEGAL citizens. I hope Texas follows suit. Stay strong -- We patriots support you!
by DiAne Gates  2010-06-02 16:48:40
This whole argument is folly and foolishness. Governor Brewer is only putting into action what the Federal Law says and the Federal Government is required but refuses to do. This Administration and this Democratic controlled Congress are destroying what's left of this once great nation. We best wake up and realize there are forces and powers at work here and worldwide that only God can and will deal with when Americans, who love their land, cry out for His intervention and His mercy. God bless Governor Brewer and all in places of leadership who stand with her as she seeks to fulfill her charge as a public servant for the good of the people of Arizona. The key word is "servant". Most in Washington don't have the slightest clue that they are called and elected to serve, be servants of the people of their districts and states. They are not important or special. I pray we all remember this in November--if we have an opportunity to have another free election.
by debbie  2010-06-03 11:57:34
This law is less stringent than our Governments own laws governing illegal immigration. The difference is the government never inforced their own laws. Its time to stop this ridiculous policy of closing our eyes and allowing anyone to come in unwatched. Have we not learned anything from 911? Does anyone not realize that there are more than Mexicans crossing our borders? The government swore to protect our borders and they are not doing their job. I applaud Gov. Brewer and hope my state of NJ puts the same law in place. Thank God she has finally done what the government did not do!!!
by Donald Gaines  2010-06-02 16:54:46
It has been my privileged to Thank the Governor of AZ twice for doing her great work we need a lot more like her in the USA. She is a True American Hero.
by Rita   2010-06-02 17:01:46
I think all the states should adopt the Arizona law. I am a Texan and would like to see it here in Texas. God Bless America!!
by Emma  2010-06-02 18:17:44
Maybe America should bless God because it is more powerful and the idiot thinks he created all men equal when certainly we need to make some illegal
by ThisAmerican  2010-06-02 18:38:55
Emma? YOU are obviously the typical anti American cretin on this blog. I bet you're just seething that AMERICANS actually have the audacity to stand for the rule of law in THEIR country. Head on out to a country you prefer, would you?
by mymoon  2010-06-02 19:41:05
emma, we didn't make them illegal. The federal government did. Why do illegals love Mexico (that doesn't give a damn about you) and condemn America for its laws?
by Nelson  2010-06-05 03:02:33
Emma, those illigals need to go back to their land and fight for what is write there. Nobody here is inviting them. I spent 15 years in cuba trying to come and finally came legally, why should mexicas just cross the borther and take advantage of anything they can get to not make this country better but to put it down in every opportinity they have? Your all full of nonsense people who think that foriners have the same writes than people that follow the law. I can't even believe that they still have the audacity to protest in our streets like if this is their land when they came ILIGALLY. What is preventing them from doint it back in their country of Mexico? and you Emma, I invite you to go and spend 6 months in Cuba. I am sure you will have a blast there with the Castro brothers!
by Nelson  2010-06-05 03:07:28
By the way...have you investigated how Mexico treat the Iligal cubas that happen to make it dare by boat? or to the Southamerican that just try to cross Mexico to make it to the states... I just request we treat mexican in the same manner they treat illigals in their country, that's what's right! (finally spelled right right)
by Mary Lou Sumner  2010-06-02 17:05:20
You go for it, Arizona. We Texans are behind you all the way. My Dallas Tea Party went to show our support. Tell your Governor to stand up to Obama & his Chicago thugs. It's time to take back our country & re-introduce our Constitution, God bless America!
by Eric   2010-06-02 17:18:10
If we would just enforce the laws, we would not be in the shape that we are in today.
Healthcare costs have gone up BECAUSE of the illegals.
Unemployment has gone up BECAUSE of the illegals.
Schools spend way too much money teaching the ILLEAGALS that do NOT PAY the school taxes.
Crime rates are way up BECAUSE of the illegals.
Racial profiling, my but! When was the last time that a blonde, blue eyed female was a suspect in a crime? (Rape, robbery, shooting, etc.)

Eric
by Emma  2010-06-02 18:08:31
Eric is right. Blonde blue eyed females are never suspects and if they are criminals who cares because we can make people of color illegal and criminal.
by Bruce Beaudette  2010-06-02 20:59:59
OK, it's time you got into politics! I'd give you my vote and support.
by Dani  2010-06-03 11:55:39
Come to my town, stand on the corner and I can guarantee you that someone will try to kidnap you or your son. Guess what, the robberies and attempted kidnappings are done by illegal immigrants here. They even try to kidnap their own.I bet a blonde blue eyes sex trafficked girl would bring in a lot more dough then anyone else.
by Emma  2010-06-02 18:08:41
Eric is right. Blonde blue eyed females are never suspects and if they are criminals who cares because we can make people of color illegal and criminal.
by ThisAmerican  2010-06-02 18:42:07
..and Emma is a disgruntled, anti American idiot. What's the problem, Emma? Is your welfare check late?
by James Ives  2010-06-02 17:34:40
The most fundamental responsibility of a government is the security of its citizens. The rampant violation of our borders by an increasingly violent and criminal element must be stopped, and if the Federal behemoth cannot, or more accurately will not do so, then it is incumbent upon the State goverbnments all along our border to step in and defend our citizens, our land and our very identity as a sovereign nation.
Beyond race or cultural preference, this simple event, that of a State body protecting its own, now has "law enforcement" officials refusing to obey the law, uninvolved players threatening boycott and violence, and the inevitable and ever-present politicians playing for power with the freedoms and the very lives of our People. It is an outrage, a disgusting scenario of our shattered nationhood, but also a prime setting for the true heart of the nation to beat loudly in defiance.
We support Arizona and their stalwart government fully, and only hope that Texas joins them.
by Chuck Ratliff   2010-06-02 17:35:09
All citizens of the U.S. that are in favor open boarders should tear down the fences around thier Homes , remove all of the locks on thier doors , and place a sing in front of thier homes . The sign should read , COME IN , TAKE EVERY THING YOU WANT . ALSO FEEL FREE TO RAPE ,and or MURDER ALL OF THE WOMEN THAT LIVE HERE .I will NOT call THE POLICE .
by Emma  2010-06-02 18:15:13
We do not want open borders because then people might want to copy the US when it stole the land from Mexico and the Indians. We need the illegalization of all non Americans and an effective ethnic cleansing before it is too late! I do not think Mexicans want to kill all the women though because they like us and some of them are cute.
by mymoon  2010-06-02 19:43:23
America did not steal. You don't see the French comming here saying Louisiana is ours give it back!
by ggllww  2010-06-03 08:24:26
Me thinks Emma, should move to Mexico leaving her papers behind, to find out what kind of treatment she would receive there!

SB 1070 does not care if you are Blonde haired Blue eyed or not, if you are here ILLEGALALLY, you are breaking the law, and here in the GREAT State of Arizona, we intend on ENFORCING THE LAW!!!

I have lived in Phoenix for the past 40 years and seen this silent invasion getting worse and worse....TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Most people in AZ have no problem with the Hipanic population here, THE ILLEGALS HAVE TRIED TO TURN THIS INTO A RACE ISSUE....IT IS NOT!

If you do not like our laws in our state, LEAVE....I will buy you a "One Way" ticket, anywhere you'd like Emma......

But you just sound like a Loud Mouth spouting off and probably would rather stay and BITCH!!!

VIVA LOS 1070...!!!
by Robert Walker  2010-06-03 09:28:49
With that mindset Emma, you would not mind then if I illegally entered your home and just helped myself to your possessions and enjoy the benefits that you provide for your family? Then let's take it a step further..since "we are all equal" as you say, just go ahead after I break and enter your home and just make me an honorary family member as well..
by liz rochford  2010-06-03 13:10:04
Robert - excellent points - none of which will penetrate the thick-headed mindset of this child (of this i'm positive). people like her can't listen to reason because if they do they'll end up back in their own countries with nothing to moan at us about. nice nice try though.
by John O'Hanlon  2010-06-02 17:35:47
Stay the course Az, wish Texas would join you in Tighting the laws and enforcement.

by Ingrid  2010-06-02 17:48:19
Ever drive into California from Arizona on Interstate 10? I have. Before I was allowed to enter CA I had to open the back of my Ryder truck. What did they want to be sure I wasn't bringing into the state? Illegals? Plants? Why does CA have the right to control what comes into it from another state, but Arizona doesn't have the right to control what/aho comes into it?
by Byron Sims  2010-06-02 17:51:08
This debate is COMPLETELY UPSIDE DOWN--YOU ARE RIGHT ENFORCE THE LAW, the other side is IGNORANT in their opposition. I support and stand with you in this issue ! !
by HR  2010-06-03 00:36:58
Bryon, what a very good question. One that really needs to be addressed.
by  tbocat  2010-06-02 17:51:59
If 44% Hispanics consider illegal immigration a very serious problem and 34% approve of the SB 1070. Then we need to reach out to the Hispanic citizens and ask them to sit down at the table and bring some achievable tools that will insure the safety of all legal citizens.

If the 34% of Hispanics that approve the law would only step forward and join us, we would be well on our way to correcting the illegal alien problem.

Question is, how do we reach out to them and ask them to join us? Little T-Boca (Annie)
by GREG  2010-06-03 01:56:26
IN AMERICAN ENGLISH!! ONE NATION ONE LANGUAGE!!!
by Lisa Eckhart  2010-06-02 17:52:36
I started to read the law but didn't enjoy it so I stopped. I'm all for it anyway and doubt reading it would change my mind. What however is it that you guys plan to do with the illegals once you get 'em? It sort of sounded like you were planning on taking them to the edge of town and saying don't come back. If you give them over to the feds isn't that about what will happen? Sorry I didn't finish reading the law. I understand that it was very well written, just like the federal one.
by Emma  2010-06-02 18:01:12
We should take the land and the rights of Mexicans and Indians! I guess we already did that. Let's make the most abusive laws we can before migrants figure they pay sale taxes and do not have any representation or benefits and find out they are actually the real tea party! Since homeless do not have papers we should deport them too!
by Dani Riner  2010-06-03 11:50:08
If you want to go back in history it's how the world of today was formed. We can't undo what's already been done. But what we can do is prevent law breakers from reeping the tax payers benefits. If you think that paying sales tax is the same thing as paying income tax, property taxes etc. then you must be still in middle or highschool, although I think that both would already know the stated above. If you're not doing anything wrong, why not just show an ID? What is the big deal, when a cop stops you - you have to show him your drivers license - so whats the problem with proof of citizenship. Every legal immigrant has to show a green card. If you don't have one, guess what GO HOME!
by Nelson  2010-06-05 03:15:48
Now EMMA I realize you are not even serious, you are just talking garbage, look I am latin, I am cuban, I came to the US and they love me... sorry to brake it to you. COME TO THE US LEGALLY! all the doors are open, don't be an illegal OK... that is what you are missing.
by Joseph Gregurich  2010-06-02 18:10:07
I support the Arizona law. If those immigrants, legal and illegal, don't like it here--GO HOME. My grandmother was a legal immigrant from Eastern Europe. She didn't speak English , but she learned. My mother being the eldest didn't speak English, but when she started school she was in the immersion program and learned English in no time. Why are we pandering to these ethnics? Why are they "better" than my mother? I have no sympathy for them. LEARN ENGLISH, GET A JOB OR GO TO SCHOOL (PREFERABLY BOTH) AND SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Shirley  2010-06-02 18:12:09
This Texan supports Arizona and their Governor. Wish Texas would do the same
by linda  2010-06-02 18:42:02
Shirley
I agree I live in Florida and so many times I go somewhere and no one speaks english stores nursing homes and hospitals here are the worst, I often wonder how can patients tell anyone if somethings wrong with them? My Great Great grandparents one on each side came here from france and irland both married born here americans and learned english. They worked and went to school both. NO government provided soc sec or healthcare or food stamps and from what I have been told times were a lot tougher then!!!!!
by Robert Walker  2010-06-03 09:31:32
<---- Agrees with Shirley!
by Annette  2010-06-02 18:16:18
Thank you for these poll numbers. Our Tea Party has a meeting tonight and I will share these statistics with them! I already knew legal Hispanics support SB1070. My daughter has a close friend who is Hispanic. Her parents support the law and are ashamed of 'her people' who break the law.
by  anonymous (BFE)  2010-06-02 18:19:37
Congratulations on having a gov. and govt. that stands up for their citizens. I'm pro-immigration, bound by all the laws that exist. Politicians and administrators are ignoring all of them. I'm just hoping that we all have long enough memories when Nov. comes around.
by Sue Young  2010-06-02 18:24:32
I'm proud of you Arizona!!! More states need to follow suit!
by Jacqueline  2010-06-03 08:51:05
God Bless you Governor Jan!!! West Virginia and most of the world are behind you!!! Watch the evil Obama today, I'll be praying for you!
by DiAne  2010-06-02 18:25:49
Emma, don't tell me, let me guess you're either young, blonde and clueless or part of the progressive liberal group that is denegrating the laws of the USA or giving hearty approval to those who do. If you don't agree with the Constitution why don't you move to another country where you agree with their ideology. Or, perhaps if you just wait you folks will win but the prize won't be what you think it is.
by Peter J. Tirpok  2010-06-02 18:26:41
I wasn't polled but I stand with Arizona in Protecting it borders and citizens. I wish I could be a the June 5, Pro-immigration Rally.
I think like most America citizens that this is our country and our President is "misguided" in his thinking as is his flunkies....Shop Arizona, visit Arizona, support Arizona, and ask you state and federal Reps to pass a bill similar to the one that will go into affect in Arizona soon. I support Governor Brewer and those who voted to approve this bill. We've got to take back America even if it is one state at a time before this administration destroys it........
by ThisAmerican  2010-06-02 18:31:13
AMERICANS of all walks of life are tired of footing the financial bill caused by illegal aliens. Those who say actually they contribute more than they take are delusional. They pay no taxes, they have more kids than they can ever afford, they send billions of US taxpayer dollars home, they refuse to assimilate and learn the language yet demand their kids be taught in Spanish, they overcrowd ER's and cause hospital closures. ALL this is documented FACT, yet proponents would have you believe that they, getting less than minimum wage, for those who do work, MAGICALLY contribute. Talk about Doo Doo economics, that is a fiscal impossibility.
by Linda  2010-06-02 18:31:58
I believe Az law is justified, its time to stand up for America and Americans. Mexico does not allow illegals they face 2 years prison no exceptions. Our border needs to be secured all the mexicans come so easy into this country any terroist or criminal can do the same thing. We have too many illegals we the tax payers are supporting now....JUST SAY NO! You go AZ
by catherine haedrich  2010-06-02 18:38:39
there will be a "stand with Arizona" rally at the new hampshire state house on main street in concord on Monday, June 7 from 9:30-11:30am. I hope everyone in New England will come and join us support Arizona and the enforcement of our national immigration laws.

Only an idiot would not agree with the Arizona Goverment.
Unless you plan to turn the State over to Mexico this is the only sane way to handle it.
What part of illegal do people not understand??!?!?
We as citizens resent having to pay the way for illegal and then have them turn around and murder, rape and committ other crimes.
I also am aware that this is how the muslims are getting in also....we will all feel the results of that.
by Dodlb  2010-06-02 18:57:10
It is the Federal Government's responsibility to protect our borders from illegals and from drug traffic. They are not doing their job. AZ has every right to protect their state and their citizens. We should all thank AZ for their proactive appproach to this huge problem.
by Anna R.  2010-06-02 19:01:09
I became a citizen in 1975. When I got married in 1963 and had a green card (I'm from Milan, Italy) I was obligated to carry it with me at all times and show it whenever asked. I was LEGAL. So, what are the ILLegals today complaining about? If one sneaks into this country he/she cannot complain when caught. PERIOD! Go Arizona!!! I hope many other States will follow. Open borders? Ability to vote? Path to citizenship? Give me a break!
by Judy Acino  2010-06-02 19:04:55

We stand with Arizona and pray for your safety.
by flash  2010-06-02 19:11:26
I completely support Arizona's stand to enforce immigration laws. All countries have immigration laws and most are much more strict than these. If I get pulled over, go through a license check, or suspected in a crime I must furnish a driver's license / proper ID. Why would potential illegals not be required to do the same? Walk across the border into Mexico without papers, not carry entry papers, sign up for social welfare programs, go to hospitals for free care, expect schools to provide American speaking teachers, fly the American flag, etc. and see where that get you!!
by GREG  2010-06-03 02:09:34
IT GETS YOU LOCKED UP AND DEAD.
by Nancy  2010-06-02 19:12:31
We are being over run. We must stand up for the integrity of our laws and enforce them. Liberals support open borders with no questions asked because those not fluent in the English language are easier to manipulate. It is all about power and control. We must restore honor and integrity.
by sandra moody  2010-06-02 19:14:30
We are with you 100% Arizona. Stand your ground. I hope my state of Florida has the backbone to do as you are. Wish we could travel out to join you, but we can only send our very best wishes and say that you are doing the right thing. Our President should be ashamed of himself for not standing with you, Arizona. But, are we surprised? No! God Bless America!

Illegal is a crime not racial profiling. The polls show how people feel. This alone is a sign that S.B. 1070 is needed not only in AZ. but throughout the entire U.S.A.

All I can is why do we need to explain why our borders should be secure? I know why but it's so confusing... when did so many Americans become so dumb?
by SAM SMITH  2010-06-02 19:35:53
i am totally in agreement with arizona. the rest of the states should follow in arizona's lead
by Robert Dyal  2010-06-02 19:36:26
I believe electic fence, land mines, and stun guns might fix the border problem. I hate to see anybody get hurt but it probably wouldn't take but one or two. Right now I pray the Arizonans won't get hurt not the illegals. I pray God give you wisdom.
by Lavada Hutchings  2010-06-02 19:37:33
Arizona is the starting point to bringing back our Country, 'By the People' and For the People'. We must stand behind AZ and praise Governor Brewer. Someone will hear us. Someone will come to the rescue of the Cry of our Nation!
by Emmett Gloyna  2010-06-02 19:37:51
Arizona has responsible elected officials who not only know their duty, but take action to seek the law is enforced. Federal officials who disregard our immigration laws should be not only impeached, but held for crimes such as evading the laws for election gain.
by Peggy Kindt  2010-06-02 19:42:31
I am sick and tired of rewarding people who are law breakers with never ending benefits. We as the tax payers of our country need to take it back! Yes we welcome poeple of other countries to APPLY for citizenship and follow the laws just like our ancestors did. We also want to speak english. This is AMERICA, not Mexico or any other country. Let's get serious and stop the madness. Our President needs to listen to the people. We are crying for reform, but it needs to be a logical move towards real changes in our immigration laws and benefits to illegal aliens must be stopped altogether. No more automatic citizenship if you are born here. I know that every person I speak to feels the way I do. That includes my dear hispanic friends who are legal citizens and speak ENGLISH!!Keep up the fight, we are behind you all the way!!
by Gary Rodenhauser  2010-06-02 19:47:24
I'm behind Arizona 100% and pray that more states will follow this example. There is nothing wrong with immigration. As long as it is done the LEGAL WAY! But 20,000,000 illegals is wrong! What is it about this word "ILLEGAL" don't you understand? Why do you allow some laws to be ignored and enforce others? Either all laws are enforced or no laws should be enforced! I know of no place in our history where it says that anyone even a president has the right to ignore the law where he wants to. Arizona is completely within their CONSTITUTIONAL laws enforcing the laws the way they are written in the LAW BOOKS. Our political leaders need to read the laws and realize they are NOT ABOVE THEM anymore that any other American or ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT! One LAW FOR EVERYONE. YOU CAN'T PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH LAWS WE WILL FOLLOW! ALL STATES NEED TO FOLLOW THE LAWS OF THIS LAND. AND ENFORCE this LAW in EVERY STATE in AMERICA! NOW and see how fast we start recovering!
by Carol  2010-06-02 19:54:04
I have no objection to LEGAL immigration. Both sets of my granparents came to this country LEGALLY many, many years ago through Ellis Island. I OPPOSE ILLEGAL immigration. Why should they get preference over anyone else, over those from Europe and other countries who apply to comehere legally? I SUPPORT 1070!!

On Saturday, June 29th, we were extremely proud to stand with Arizona at a Rally where thousands of Americans were present. There were people from Texas, Florida, Wyoming and several other states. The news never made mention of the total amount of people who attended. We wish all the other states would join in support of Arizona and the Rule of Law. We are sorry to say that the 6 of us who attended on Saturday will not be able to attend the Rally to be held on June 5th. We will continue to pray for our country, our service men and women and for the other states to join Arizona. From the bottom of my heart I would like to THANK ARIZONA for taking the lead. Come on TEXAS let's join too. We need to enforce the law. God Bless Arizona and those people who love our Beautiful Country. We will continue to spend our money in Arizona! GOD BLESS THE USA!

I AM ACTIVE IN A SENIOR CENTER IN MISSION VIEJO, CA. AND EVERY SENIOR I KNOW IS 100% IN SUPPORT AND STAND WITH ARIZONA.I HATE THE STAND CALIFORNIA IS TAKING. WE DO NOT ALL FEEL LIKE THE JERKS IN SAN FRANCISCO AND LOS ANGELES.
by eb  2010-06-02 20:05:36
In Support, Fly the Arizona flag along with the US flag. All the polls I see say supporters of Arizona are the majority but all I see on the news is anti Arizona. We need to show how many of us are out here that support Arizona.
by Linda Simon  2010-06-02 20:15:46
I am from Arizona and support 1070. How dare our illustrious President sit in his Ivory Tower and remain silent when states have pitted against another state. What happened to the "United" States of America. How dare he stay silent and allow one state to turn against another. Our Governor Jan Brewer said it right, NEVER Boycott another state or city. We are all Americans and this behavior is inconscienable. To those who spew retoric and avoid actually reading facts - grow up and get literate! To Mr Obama - I can't wait until YOU ARE FIRED!!!!!
by Julie Bieganski  2010-06-02 20:15:55
Gov Jan Brewer, thank you for standing up for our state and our country!! Don't back down from this what ever you do, because Obama is going to try to make you do just that.

What is wrong with this country? All AZ is doing is following the law. We are talking about "illegal" aliens in this country. Wake up folks! The rest of this country needs to get some backbone and follow AZ lead. I wish TX would do the same. 3 cheers for AZ.
by Barry K . von Bernhard  2010-06-02 20:27:55
It's as plain as the nose on your face . Arizona decided to do something the Federal Government failed to do . Each state in order to protect itself , not only from illegal aliens but also from the Federal Government itself , must also use such laws . Also each state needs to let the Federal nGovernment know that they govern by the will of the majotity , WE THE PEOPLE not ,
WE THE LEFTOVERS .If need be the states ned to secede from the union . It happend once , it can happen again with better results .
by Dave Bradley  2010-06-02 20:28:47
We are SOOOO proud of you Arizonians. We would like to get the same thing passed in Tennessee.
We don't have the Governor nor the Legislature with the guts and common sense of those in Arizona.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've changed my summer plans and will not be spending ONE CENT in Los Angeles EVER AGAIN. I'm going to take my wife and kids to the Grand Canyon and see an AMERICAN state. Arizona; the BACKBONE State!

i live in california.i wish california would adobt the same law as in arizona.we need imagration control badly here also.we,re plaged with high crime by illegals here.our state is broke, just like arizona is.its high time all the states adopt the same laws as arizona.hooray for arizona.
by Dani Riner  2010-06-03 11:21:43
I completely agree with you. I am in Los Angeles and there is a huge illegal problem here. I have also lived in Salt Lake City and they are plagued with the same issue.
by  anonymous (BFE)  2010-06-04 11:58:41
"Plagued" is the most perfect word for these anti americans protesting and demanding free food, jobs without taxes, free this, and free that. Get real, where in the world do people demand free everything. I live in florida and with open borders and we too are plagued with illegal immigrants. Like someone else pointed out, its not the color of skin or nationality...but if not here visiting, or not a citizen, then go back home and come back only when you apply for citizenship...is it that hard to initiate, what prevents those from following the law??
by R Perkins  2010-06-02 20:36:06
I lived in Ari-mexico for 15 yrs--so glad to be out of there! The Mexicians want and are getting there land back--Jan Brewer is taking a stand--I will stand with her and the rest of the American people that want NO-MORE then accountability for aliens that are NOT suppose to be here. The law that says--if your born here your an American--I don't think so! If your an alien--then your baby is to!! Stop the insane thinking
by evelyn  2010-06-02 20:37:31
MSNBC'S latest poll shows 95% FOR the AZ law, and only 4% against!

by Bruce Beaudette  2010-06-02 20:57:45
Thank God AZ has the gall to stand up on her own two feet. It's truely sad that politicians are so currupt that they would want illegals in our country to benefit themselves. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Let's get back to the basics. I feel that anyone should be welcome to the United States as long as they do it legally. Run a record check, learn to speak English, fly the American Flag and not the flag of the country you deserted. I believe all illegals should be returned. They can join us when they want to go through the process.
by craig smith  2010-06-02 21:09:45

I'm sick and tired of hearing about who took what from whom!
How far back in human history shall we stop so as to make someones argument seem plausible?
We are here and the time is now. Without laws you have anarchy "ie" survival of "the most ruthless".Without a specific line where "law" begins, there is no "law"!Maybe some of our immigration laws need to be updated . When we consider recent headlines, immigrants from other parts of the world should probably be "profiled " more closely than hispanics! Social Justice" is patently un-American.
"Equal Justice" is always better for everyone in the long run!
by Bob Dunakey  2010-06-02 21:17:28
we feel so strongly about supporting Arizona, that we have bought a house there and are moving from Washington State! We are independents and fiscally conservative. My wife is a legal resident alien (Mexican) and supports LEGAL immigration as she had to do. She is however fearful of being stopped because she looks Mexican. No matter how I try to convince her that this is not true, her Mexican friends tell her otherwise. We have begun avoiding areas and businesses that boycott AZ, choosing to go out of our way to support those who support Arizona. We will NOT spend a penny in Seattle or King County, WA.
by CAROLE THURMAN  2010-06-02 21:19:13
I AM AN "INDEPENDENT" & "I AM FOR THE LAW"!!! EVERY STATE NEEDS TO FOLLOW ARIZONA TO PUT A STOP TO THE "ILLEGALS". THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW BY NOT GOING THRU THE LEGAL PROCESS TO BECOME AMERICAN CITIZENS, "PERIOD"!!!!

TO: ALL ELECTED FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ...
ALL FUTURE, CURRENT AND NEWLY ELECTED UNITED STATES AND APPOINTED FEDERAL & STATE OFFICIALS, MEN, WOMEN, OLD & YOUNG ALIKE, NOW SERVING THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN WASHINGTON D.C. & STATE GOVERNMENT, SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO SERVE A MINIMUM "SIX (6) MONTH TOUR OF DUTY ON THE MEXICAN/USA BORDERS" AS BORDER PATROL AGENTS, WORKING UNDER THE SAME LOUSY CONDITIONS AND "ILLEGAL INVADER INVASION" POLICY THAT EXISTS TODAY!!!

I STAND WITH ARIZONA'S "ILLEGAL INVADER" INVASION SOLUTION 200%! WE MUST SECURE OUR BORDERS! OUR NUMBER ONE MEXICO/USA BORDER PRIORITY MUST BE TO STOP THE "ILLEGAL INVADER" INVASION AT ALL COSTS! THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE RIDDANCE OF THE EVIL ILLEGAL INVADER muslim COMMUNIST USURPER barack hussein obama FROM OUR HOUSE, THE WHITE HOUSE!!!

IF YOU WASHINGTON D.C. SANDBAGGERS ARE GONNA "TALK THE TALK" YOU'VE GOTTA LEARN TO "WALK THE WALK" FIRST!!!

THIS IS MY STATEMENT, I APPROVE
by Steve  2010-06-02 21:52:18
If our government had any stones, they'd invite everyone that came here illegally to go home. Just come out and say it "Go Home" then everyone would know where we stand. In the meantime, Keep up the good work AZ!!!!!!
by Kamryn Hermosillo  2010-06-02 21:54:54
I too stand united with all those supporting Arizona's SB 1070! More states need to enact idential legislation! Yay for Governor Brewer!
by clyde French  2010-06-02 21:58:23
I am very much of the side of the Gov. of AZ. We all should be aware of our nations laws and obey them. I seems that there are too many people here now that want to ignore our immigration laws. Any nation without borders is no nation at all and it seems to ne that there are folks here in our country that want it to become no nation at all. I love the USA and I do not want illegal immigrants flowing over our borders who have no respect or alligence to the USA. The people, mostly Dems that hate their country and really would like to see the redistribution of wealth to the people who have none because they have a guilt complex because we are successful have more things than poor third world countries. I now that the US is the most generous county always defending the wrights of the underprivaldge people on the plant, I myself have been in the USArmy in a situation where my life was on line for a third world country not my own.

I believe the entire United States should adopt Arizona's law, and it should be a federal law as well.
by liz in phoenix  2010-06-03 16:54:25
it may just be the wording, but it sounds like you don't know that it IS a federal law. our SB1070 just mimics that law - the one our president and homeland security won't obey. the only difference is we brought it to a state level so our pd can ask AFTER having stopped someone for possible criminal purposes - to see their ID's and prove they're in this country legally. if you don't speak any english and don't have insurance when you're driving - the chances are pretty good you're not. our police do not want this burden, but since the gov't won't do it's job, Arizona has taken on that position. keep our LE in your prayers please. their job has just increased in danger and in case overload.
by Anna Nazario  2010-06-02 22:25:42

Keep up the great work. You may be the ones to save our Country!!
by liz in phoenix  2010-06-03 16:45:43
Rocky - that's a tall order for one little state, and as you know it's going to take the whole country pulling together on this one. but if we got the ball rolling, we're as proud as we can be. we need the rest of the country to give their traitors in politics the boot and follow suit!

We are broke, Period. Do people realize that Americans are out of work and need jobs? We cannot support Mexico any longer, they need to take car of themselves. America needs to secure it's borders and take care of its own. Let Mexico take care of theirs.
by Phyllis  2010-06-02 22:53:03
Thank you for single-handedly doing what you can to protect our borders. I intend to boycott any city or state that boycotts you!

WTG ARIZONA! Too late for those of us in Iowa. Unfortunately, our legislators gave an open door to illegal Mexicsns for years, and like maggots they have multiplied at an astronomical rate. They have wrecked out welfare system, and we have one of the hughest unemployment rates in years. I wish our governor had the balls and bite Arizona's has. Wake up America! It's not just the Mexican, we're being over-run with illegals from all over the world.
by Jim  2010-06-02 23:35:40
6/2/010..Thanks again to Governor Brewer for signing SB1070. Should have been done 30 years ago. The illegals are taking our jobs. Getting free medical care and complaining of racial profiling..What is wrong with this picture? If we were caught sneaking into Mexico, we would have no rights. It should be the same way here. What's fair for one is fair for the other.
by Melissa Johnson  2010-06-02 23:39:25
I stand with Arizona! Everyone needs to stop boycotting and help protect our country!
by tracy   2010-06-02 23:55:53
stand tall Gov Brewer. I worry that the White House will pull some dirty tactics tomorrow in effort to intimidate her. I have the absolute lowest opinion possible of that slimeball in occupying the Oval Office. STAND STRONG ARIZONA.
by Bobi  2010-06-03 00:00:33
we need to get this very serious issue under control, right now. we are not only accepting those who have no respect for our country and laws, we are taking away from those legal citizens during a very difficult fiscal period in history. their predisdent is disrectful to us, i don't reward bad behavior ~
by Ira J Simon, DC  2010-06-03 00:06:52
We need a treaty agreement with Mexico that we get to treat those who enter our country illegally from the southern border the way they treat those who enter their country illegally from their southern border.
by R. Michael Harrison  2010-06-03 00:12:05
I Have written to them President Bush and again to President Obama to voice my opinion as to what the real intent, and design, of an impregnatable border would mean.

Simply put the fence is not meant to be a barrier to keep people out, but rather a means to lead those who want to be here to our 'Gates'.
by Nancy  2010-06-03 00:19:58
I live in one of the states considering a similar bill. The first thing I did was email the governor of Arizona Jan Brewer to congratulate her for doing what needed to be done.
by Tannia  2010-06-03 00:23:25

by Robert Hamilton  2010-06-03 00:27:38
Obama and his administration gave us the finger and passed the health care bill therefore I am sure amnesty will be passed so the undocumented democrats can demand higher wages retroactive to their date of hire. Deny illegal immigrants all benefits and babies born here are citizens of the parents country. Easy eh?? Not complicated at all. They say the illegals do the jobs we won't do, that's because the jobs are already taken by cheap labor. Watch 'Dirty Jobs'If it was not for the Spanish there would be no Mexicans. They need to be told we did not steal the land. We paid them for it after we whipped their butt. In fact it is the right of the indigent peoples who were here before Columbus or Cortez who own the right to have their land back!!!
Can a fair skinned illegal claim racial profiling???
If I get a tan can I claim racial profiling??
It has never been against OUR Constitution or a violation of human rights to show your ID when asked. If you are legal then you should be pro

I agree w/ Robert Hamilton. The only people who can legitimately claim the SouthWest was stolen are the North American Indian tribes. duh. These freakin morons falsely accusing the US of "stealing" land from Mejico are just that: morons. Please people, go back to school. Pull your head out of your you know what and listen: It was the SPANISH government, the SPANIARDS, the EUROPEANS that came over to the Americas and colonized the southwest. NOT the indigenous people of Mexico. These Mexicans migrating north and crossing into North America NOT indigenous to the SouthWest. They are "reclaiming" nothing. They are "INVADING". And I bet you dimes to doughnuts the left wing polly parrots repeating whatever Pro-Illegal Rhetoric Du Jour they hear on NBC can't even name one single North American tribe that actually CAN legitimately claim the S-west as their natural ancestral homeland. And guess what, if we are going to worry about the well-being of any impoverished peoples, it should be them.
by judy graham  2010-06-03 01:18:05
I defintely believe Arizona has done the right thing with their law concerning illegal aliens, I am just praying that all border states will follow suit in support of Arizona's bold stand to curtail the flow of illegals into our country. Judy
by GGLLWW  2010-06-03 10:00:48
JUDY....JUST THE border states????

ALL States should make tis move and do it NOW!!!

The U.S. is silently being INVADED........Can't people understand that???

What the hell is wrong with Law Enforcement in this country??? They don't and even now, REFUSE to enforce the laws on the books!!!!!!!

Our sheriff Joe, is taking care of Maricopa County, but that leaves a hell of a lot of territory, left unchecked! We need all states to start and remove these "INVADERS" ASAP!!!

Just search the internet, you will see what the intention of these people is! They come here, drop their anchor babies, that suck off the social services intended for LEGAL Citizens. Depleting funds that are so badly needed. Just look at the states close to the borders.....we are all BROKE!!!!

Most are having problems financially, but, do you all want to end up like California???? Over run with Illegal immigrants using the funds available for YOUR Children????

by liz in phoenix  2010-06-03 15:57:44
cris - what your governor and a few other choice politicians is doing to you and to us is shameful. you know that idiot hasn't read the law. he's just being politically correct according to his movie buds. he's an embarassment as is our mayor here in phoenix. they have agendas that have nothing whatsoever to do with the safety and security, health, wealth and happiness of those who gave them the power they're now abusing. it's so wonderful to see so many speaking up for what we know is right. i'm baffled and dazed every day by the concept that even one citizen of the US opposes this.

I THINK IT IS PAST TIME FOR ALL "BLEEDING HEARTS" TO "STEP OUT OF LINE". I ALSO SAY THAT IT IS WAY PAST TIME FOR AMERICA TO LOCK DOWN ALL THE BORDERS AND TELL ANYONE TRYING TO GET IN "LEGAL" OR NOT TO START MAKING CHANGES IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. IF THEY DON'T LIKE IT THERE THEN DO WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE THE NEEDED CHANGES. DON'T COME HERE TO THE U.S. AND BRING THEIR PROBLEMS WITH THEM. IT'S LIKE I TOLD THE GUYS AT WORK, I DON'T LIVE IN MEXICO AND I'LL BE $#@ #^@%$^ IF I'M GONNA WORK THERE!!!!

by kenneth m lang  2010-06-03 06:31:24
I think this is the begining of war. I think the response of the tea party should be to find out what cities and corporations are boycotting Arizona and boycot them. It would be eazier to do that then to buycot arizona or maybe both, boycott and buycott. For example find a big company in CO or SF and do not support or buy any products from that company.Do not go to that city or state. If your company has a convention in that city do not go and make sure your company knows you will not go. This will not cost you anything and you can keep it up a long time unlike a buycott. We can pick a few companies in each city that is boycotting and the tea party can network to all supporters where not to buy. For example, if HP computers is in San Francisco Do not buy HP computers or any of their products. We need the tea party leaders to help network this idea and members to pass it on to their friends.

It's very simple. Mexico will do anything to get rid of the people who are useless and non productive in their country, so guess where do you thing they want to send, yes our country. They come in 8 month pregnant and have their child to become a citizen. We should send Mexico our jail population in responce for everyoine one that enters our country illegaly.
Sounds fair to me

I pray that Arizona gets back to being a safe place to live and their costs of running their state is reduced. One time the
Federal government should inforce the laws on illegals they have chosen not to. If they had ten years ago non of this would happen. Our welfare costs and healthcare costs would be why down.
by lucy  2010-06-03 08:54:10
every state in the union should really clamp down on illegals.if we didn't already have a very liberial immigration poicy it would be different.who do these people think they are that they can come into our country and tell us what to do.if they don't like our laws let them go and live with their laws.they have no loyalty to america. they are just here to get what they can even if they have to break our laws to get it.america would be a lot better off without them all the way around.

Go Arizona go...It took a woman to finally do something with the problems in Arizona....Phoenix has the second highest kidnappings in the world...Second to Columbia. People should not talk unless they have lived it. ..Let them live there and they would change their opinion. It is easy to sit afar and run off at the mouth when you have not experienced it....The federal government refuses to obey the law and do their job. Is that anything new???
by Kathy  2010-06-03 09:21:47
I believe with all my heart and soul that every state should adopt this law. What is the point of having borders? There is also something I believe would save us lots of money- MAKE ENGLISH OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE! There is no reason why we have to duplicate everything in spanish. There was a time when people comming to this country would do everything possible to learn to sound American. Are people comming here to become American or just to stal jobs and send thier wages out of country?

SHAME on Rick Perry for NOT doing the same in TEXAS! The REAL reason folks are miffed over the law is because IT WILL WORK! Try calling the FBI or ICE next time someone breaks into your home or trespasses.. The response time in calling a govt agency will "foster" the criminal activity. However, allow local authorities to enforce it, and that alone will serve as a deterrent. And as for the WEAK argument of racial profiling?? Try giving a discription to an officer next time a crime is committed and NOT use race.. see how far THAT gets you. I thank GOD for the Governer of Arizona, wished she was Governer of Texas.

most of us here in AZ thank God for her. we need to see more brave souls like her in politics, willing to stand up to presidents, mayors, marchers and other bullies. she has stood against the tide of boycotters that just keep coming. she's stood against our very own mayor who is totally against this law. we're sick and tired of our politicians wanting to give this country away to anyone with a fast buck and a future vote in their pockets. - it must end. btw - thank God for people like you who get that too.

The U.S. is just about to become the next Greece. We cannot afford to support illegals from anywhere. If we don't enforce the illegal immigration problem then we as a nation will be bankrupt within the next 5-10 years without a doubt. This will happen when we can no longer pay the interest on our debt. I fear we will then be forced to pay our debt with our resources such as land which is now under government control and oil, coal, gas deposits, etc. Our nation will be owned by countries that we are now indebted to like China. Perhaps people like the sound of Chinazona but I sure don't. The border fence must be completed and secured. I am 100% behind Gov. Brewer and I know she will not back down to President Obama when they meet at the White House on Thursday at 1:00. I would like to see more representatives like Gov. Brewer as Senators and Congressmen. I would feel as if we could turn our country around then.

Never have I been more proud to tell others I am from AZ as I do now that AZ is taking a firm stand on securing our borders. So many people open the conversation and offer their support and wish their state would develop a bill too. Proud, proud, proud of AZ! Why shouldn't we feel safe in our own town where we invest, live and help our neighbor. AZ continue to stand strong amongst DC lifer politicos. Remember, this is only the first step of climbing out of the hole big government has put us in. God bless America.

I stand with Arizona and will not do business with those states that refuse to represent that we are the "United States of America" and not some individual states in the Americas. Secure the borders! Set the example.

I didn't realize that Texas Gov. Rick Perry was against the Arizona law that Gov. Brewer instated. He should be considered for replacement in the next election. He is not a worthy Teaxs Governor. I think Numbers/USA.com should have an action alert for people to fax their opinion to Gov. Perry. We the people have a lot of influence and can even repeal much of what Obama has done but only if we vote for reps that will be on our side and not become "deal makers" for their own greed. Please contact Numbers/USA.com and let them know what you think about any governor that is not on board with Gov. Brewer. She is one of our American heroes and should be e-mailed and told that by everyone in favor of her brave stand to restore America one state at a time. Please encourage you own Governor also as I have done in PA. We are also adopting such a law and although the current Gov. Rendell said he will veto it, I believe the next Gov. will sign it into law. AG Corbett will be our new Governor!!!

The Govenor of Arizona is my Hero!!! It is waypassed do that someone sticks up for this country. As I have said before and I will keep saying tell my dieing day ILLEGALS ARE ILLEGAL. IS A BANK ROBBER NOT A BANK ROBBER BECAUSE HE OR SHE DROPPED THE MONEY ON THE WAY OUT ? NO THEY ARE STILL A BANK ROBBER JUST LIKE ILLEGALS ARE STILL ILLEGALS EVEN IF THEY HAVE BEEN IN THIS COUNTYR FOR YEARS . If they apply for citizenship it should be denied until they go back to there home country and have a waiting period just like anyone else has to.

I support my governor and my state.

"Officers with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said their agency was asked by Mexican officials not to enforce U.S. immigration laws on the island while the cards were being issued.

"It amazes me every time that the Mexican government has the gall to tell us what to do," said an ICE official, who asked not to be named. "More surprisingly is how many times we stand by and let them."

In April, Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies seized a boat carrying large quantities of marijuana and detained three Mexican nationals who said they were being smuggled into the United States."

It is time for all states especially California and Texas to follow our lead.

I think all the dems in Washington who have not read the bill and opposes this immigration law needs to take their families and move to down to Arizona and set up house near the border and put their kids in the public school system and live there for about a year or two and that includes Obama.

When they cross our border that's illegal, and when they take a job and use someone's social security number to get that is another crime
my daughter identity was stolen the last three years she's had to prove who she was to receive her refund. This year someone claimed her son as a dependent so they are filing taxes and getting refunds.

This law is about common sense, of which there seems to be very little left. If you are in another country without a passport or other form of id, and you are stopped by the authorities of that particular country, what do you think is going to happen? I doubt very much that one will be let off with a pat on the back to go their own way. We are to lax in this country, and it gets us in trouble. In Mexico, they don't want to deal with immigrants from Belize, Guatamala, or for that matter anywhere else. They have a law called prop #67, and that is a very tough piece of immigration law. Look it up. Mexico has so many problems with overcrowding, corrupt officials, it is no wonder they do not want any more people, and that they are happy as hell to ship them to us. Also, if you read Arizona's law, no one is going to be taken out and shot, or sent to places like Buchenwald- they are going to be shipped back to where they came from. Hey, what a good common sense idea.
by debra waldron  2010-06-03 11:52:25
I want illegals to be returned and made to come back under our legal immigration law requirements. I want the border protected. I want my state (NJ) to adopt the same law as Arizona. NJ cannot afford to support its legal residents nevermind the illegals. Our state is going bankrupt and we have to cut anything extra including the support of illegal aliens. Our laws are being broken by illegals and ICE will not pick them up. My mother was hit by an illegal driving a car in Manasquan NJ. She (the illegal) was charged with running a stop sign, not possessing a drivers license, no insurance and she was not arrested or deported. This ultimately lead to her health failing from the stress of this accident (she was elderly) and then her death. I want anyone who comes to this country to do so legally and they must abide by our laws and learn to speak english and obey our laws.

I would like to see more states take a stand as Arizona did . We need to send a message to Washington that no action is unexceptable. Secure our boarders now.

The legal people never had any problems with immigration laws, it is the illegals and the ones in left field that oppose this countries Constitution because they want to take it over. How long is it going to take for people to realize this is the way for the really bad people to enter our country and do something we will really regret. Our laws and our people are what we defend and yet, for some reason, our country continues to have horrific events occur. Maybe it is time to put God back in our minds and in our prayers for better leadership in our beloved country. Charlie Daniels said it like it should be done and he is not afraid to, are you?

here in Arizona we struggle against all the problems that an invaded state must endure. i do hope you all see us that way, b/c in truth that is what we are - an invaded state overrun by people who should not be here, but are given a pass by our president and our homeland security. they do nothing but apply bandaids to open gashes in our borders. we're overwhelmed w/crime, vehicular hit & run "accidents", healthcare ripoff & disease, SSN ripoff, home invasion, murder, kidnaping, purse theft, armed muggings all while being marched on daily by people carrying our flag upside down screaming that they are not criminals. while they're saying that they're throwing water bottles and other junk at our police. this must be taken just as seriously as we have taken invaders of other countries in other times. we are being called nazis (how horrible that is to us believe me) because we don't lie down and take it. THEY are the invading "nazis" - and we need everyones help to stop them.

there is a news report going around saying the FBI has decided there's no truth to the rumor that the border is a dangerous place. they are saying the safest places to live are all on the border of mexico and the US. PLEASE DO NOT BUY INTO THIS HYPE!! if you want to know how infested the border cities and towns are - ask the locals who live there - not the FBI who obviously wants to impress their (not my) president. they are just another voice trying to convince we Americans that all is well and not to worry. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. we are in serious trouble at the border and all over America with the constant influx of illegals from all countries. most are coming in through Mexico, but aren't necessarily mexican. please do your own research and see what's going on at the borders rather than relying on people with agendas. God bless Americans

The federal government is not doing enough to secure our borders to say the least. It is up to each state to do their part to make their citizens safe and protect property. Enough is enough, those cities that provide shelter and act as safe houses for illegals will see their days numbered. The cowardly cities that are voting to boycott will also see their days numbered. The American people are getting fired up and will vote out politicians who fail to represent their best interest. States are feeling the cost of providing billions in cost to illegal aliens.

by Dee  2010-06-03 18:29:54
I'm glad to find this organization and fully support Arizona's efforts to do what the Feds won't. We have easily the same problems here in California but the politicians (who thrive on our tax dollars) are too busy supporting these illegals and their anchor babies (who thrive on our taxes and who think "Land Of The Free" means that we have to pay their way in life). The Jamiel Shaw case (isupportjamielslaw.com) is but one of hundreds of examples of blacks being targeted for death by illegal Mexicans; maybe that Arizona rancher would still be with us if US citizens had taken up this cause when it was "just blacks" they were murdering. Aligning this cause with the tea-baggers will drive away people who otherwise might support it. EVERY true citizen should want to rid our streets of these criminals--and if you cross our border illegally, you're a criminal.
by Chris   2010-06-03 20:19:33
I fail to see the impact from the Liberal "boycott." In fact, it seems to be a win-win situation for all of us who live in AZ. The boycotters, who continue to keep AZ in the news, are still coming to town from all over the Country, paying to stay and eat here, so they can participate in the protest marches! These marches which have become a tiresome, non-event to Arizonans, are generating revenue to the State, yet they are keeping the Liberal Ideologues from moving here and screwing up Arizona's way of life, like they did in California! I say, let the ignorant slobs continue to "boycott;" we are happy to accept their protest $$$!

Whether I agree or disagree is an academic point considering that "State's Rights" provides for Arizona's democratic action. It's amazing that so many folks who do not live in Arizona believe their opinion is important about how Arizona should go about making and enforcing laws they believe are good for their state. Lest I get into a one-sided debate about what I think about the US failed immigration system, or my opinion on what is right, wrong or indifferent in our nation, I'm preferring to simply propose "let Arizona do what they think is best for their state". If they find it doesn't work, they'll change it. If it works, great. If it works with modifications, great. But to oppose Arizona "doing something" is to have "contempt prior to investigation", which is the hallmark of an ignorant mind. Boom, there it is. Ralph F. Houston, Texas
by Pam Griffin  2010-06-04 01:52:18
If our country had obeyed the law that was already in place: if any company, business, etc. hire illegals, they were to be sent back to Mexico and the business to pay a fine!! Why was this law never enforced? I think is partly to blame for our present situation. I also don't think just because a child is born here with illegal parents it is not they automatically become citizens. It seem like the term "illegal" means they broke the law when they stepped over the border.

I wish all states would step up to the plate and follow your example.
by Support Arizona  2010-06-04 06:45:13
United we stand. We should have fast track legal immigration for employed aliens with no criminal record. All others should be deported. We are a national governed by the rule of law and under no circumstances should we allow violent rioting to change that. I suggest Arizona deputize as many law enforcement officers as are needed to enforce the law.
by C. Robins  2010-06-04 11:32:37
First it is crap that they use racial profilling for not addressing the illegalness of coming to another country without papers and doing it legally. We cannot fix our economy or health care without doing it legally. It is a joint effort for all of us, foreignors should apply for citizenship and enjoy what ALL americans enjoy, after all that's why they come here, its our freedom and our laws. So abide by them. I feel racial profiling is just another stall or excuse to pull away from securing the border, the illegals are mad because this puts a crimp in their lifestyle.
by Susan  2010-06-04 16:24:04
WRONG. If they came here illegally, throw them out and make them come back legally. They add nothing to our economy and have bankrupted the state of California. Try entering their country illegally and then enjoy your jail stay and execution. GET REAL.
by Donald  2010-06-04 15:09:45

Arizona is the place to be!
Jan Brewer should run for President!
We love you Arizona and we'll be seeing you soon to spend our vacation with you. Can't wait until California gets a new governor and we can get this state back on track by using some common sense like you did. WTG! WE LOVE YOU!
by Carole in PA  2010-06-04 17:41:27
It's about time someone with some gumption stood up for AMERICA! Every American citizen should stand up and cheer for your governor and the people behind this idea. I wish PA would do the same. What is it that these people have to offer America? Nada
These illegals are so arrogant and demanding and feel we owe them a living for not working. Does Obama want a brown only country? It sure looks like it to me. How dare these hispanics come into our country and demand we move over. If they ever get amnesty - look out
Every American I talk to is tired of the politics and our politicians caving in to the demands of illegals. I'm tired of paying their way. But I would pay for their return to Mexico as long as we secure all our so. borders.
They are using our own laws for their own gain. They don't want to speak/learn English. We don't want that kind of citizen. They can't shove their pres around, like they do ours and our politicians. Turn all literature into ENGLISH. Best

This is for Californians.

This is a very important issue, this is a petition in support of the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution. California Assembly Bill AB 1934 is attempting to strip us of our right to defend and protect ourselves. AB 1934 is one step away from becoming law. It now goes to the State Senate for a final vote. Please help by signing this petition. Thank you.

Arizona has an amazing and down to business Governor. Everyone is way past sick of all this illegal immigrants mess. I'm sick of hearing that we can't deport all of them! If we looked at the law, it says sneaking over our borders and being in our Country illegally is a felony. We Citizens always have to show our ID so what gives. This crap about if you have a baby here, you are automatically a citizen. Not so fast there, because the law reads if one of the parents of the child is legally a citizen, then the baby is a citizen. We need to clean up our Country. What we have going on is an invasion. America is so well past mad, we're fired up.

I feel that it is outrageous that officials associated with President Obama have voiced their disapproval of Arizona's Immigration law when they admit that they never read it. How many other things coming from the White House have been handled in this same way. God Bless the state of Arizona and your Governor for having the will to do the right thing!!! Know that there are so many of us on your side.

people need to realize that all those who are here illegally aren't paying taxes. If you work and are here legally you pay taxes. You're paying for everyone else...and your taxes are going up and up because of this and all the welfare programs that are maxed out due to the growing strain from millions of illegal people. YOU pay for it. Those who oppose are usually unemployed or ignorant that they're getting screwed in the paycheck! Wake up. Signed a LEGAL immigrant.

Go ARIZONA you are to be congratulated for having the guts and for doing what is right for your citizens..All states should follow you and finally take control of this problem...I also believe that the honorable and honest Mexicans that are here for the right reason are on your side..They are tired of the illegals hurting their reputations and the hard work they have put in being and American...I am an immigrant myself and no one gave me anything or owed me anything..This country gave me the opportunity to better myself and it was up to me to go to work and do it...The American people do not owe this immigrants anything and I am sick of all the handouts...If you want to come to this country, you better love it, respect it and learn English..I admire the people that keep their traditions but learn English on your own like I did...When in Rome do as the Romans and if you don't like that, than leave and God Bless you..Some of our politicians should leave also because the make me sick.

I will push for a bill identical to the Arizona Immigration bill in California. It would be powerful if all states adopted the Arizona Law. It would put a spike in the idea of amnesty and hopefully put 1000's of National Guard with rifles on the border.
