In the wake of the left-wing, open-borders boycott of Arizona over the new immigration law, the City of Phoenix estimates that it is on track to lose $90 MILLION in lost business.  The left wing has mobilized en masse against Arizona, to huge effect.

According to Arizona's public officials, the open-borders lefties are successfully managing to put the economic squeeze on Arizona:

The legislation and firestorm of negative publicity that followed brought calls for boycotts, moved groups to back out of local conventions and led several cities to cut business ties with Arizona companies.

The loss of business is critical in a recession-battered state vitally dependent on visitor spending...

The backlash against Arizona couldn't come at a worse time, convention and business leaders say.

The state, which took in $18.5 billion in visitor spending in 2008, has seen its tourism industry struggle in the past couple of years as the U.S. economy sagged...

Officials were just starting to see signs of life when the backlash over the new immigration law began, said Debbie Johnson, CEO of the Arizona Tourism Alliance and the Arizona Hotel and Lodging Association.

To date, dozens of cities and groups have announced boycotts. Arizona has lost at least 30 to 40 meetings and conventions, she said.

"We were surprised by (the boycotts)," Johnson said. "We didn't think it was going to be a tourism issue. This is a political issue."

Despite certain initiatives created to help support Arizona, conservatives have failed to counter the massive left-wing economic onslaught.

Do you stand with Arizona?

Boycott California wine and Wisconsin cheese! No illegals!! No amnesty!! No compromise!!

I'm a Californian. I'm tired of paying my taxes to educate and support illegals!!!

California produce kills people with e-coli germs. Boycott anything coming out of Calfornia, especially their produce. Fresh, frozen or canned, E-coli kills!

Tell your grocer that you will not shop with them anymore if they carry Calfornia vegetables and fruits.
by jam  2010-05-17 12:10:42
Geez louise, that's where 90% of all the U.S. fruit crops come from. E-Coli can happen anywhere.

Hey, I'm coming out of California next week on my way to the rally in Arizona. Please don't boycott me!
by purple frog  2010-05-19 15:20:48
Linda
We have the same problem in TX! The illegals come here by the truck load, birth instant welfare tickets, then join gangs, trear up oiur towns, drag down our education system, suck off our social services, drive without insurance, cause accidents, and leave the scene or get let off while LEGAL WORKING AMERICANS get hurt, stuck with the damage/cost/debt/injury while the illegals run off. We had an illegal here last week cut a woman's head off with a chain saw, leave her body in the middle of a neighborhood street, went to Dallas to a car dealership to 'test drive' a car. Stole the car and headed to mexico....where he is now 'free'.
THAT CRAP NEEDS TO STOP!
America needs illegals like we need more national debt!

THAT'S WHY CALIFORNIA IS BROKE.MORE PEOPLE TAKING THAN GIVING TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES. PEOPLE BETTER WAKE UP BEFORE THEY DRAG US ALL DOWN.

I am a Californian, over 65. I saw my school district spend hundreds of dollars on computer software to teach English to Mexican immigrants - without finding out if these same people even had computers. We need this kind of money to bring American History back into our school curriculum.
by  anonymous (BFE)  2010-05-19 15:24:04
same thing happening in Tx. Trying to educate these kids and often their parents is a total waste of tax payer money!
Spend the money on OUR kids and for OUR benefit and for OUR cities. I'm sick to death of wasting tax dollars providing illegals a free ride, all the while putting up with their attitudes, teier ignorance, their crime, and the trash/gangs and neighborhood ruination they bring!
by Tom Partain  2010-05-23 00:39:32
The reason they are so illiterate is because they cannot speak their own language. Not many even attend elementary if they do they drop out by the 6th grade. The Presidenti sends millions here to America in a private way so no one will know who it is teaching but he pays for them to learn Mexican. He said it can be some schools or individuals that teach. He further said he wanted them to keep in contact with Mexico because of the money they send back. Until 2008 illegals was Mexicos 2nd highest income next to OIL. He wants them learn Mexican so they can talk to the Mexicans in America to help them find jobs and sneak around the system to draw welfare and such.

I'm a native Californian and 7th-generation Westerner.

I'm coming out in about 2 weeks to support AZ and do business within the state - about $6k.

I have Cali plates on my car - please don't harass me because I'm Californian.

Many of us support AZ - the idiots on the Los Angeles City Council and San Francisco City Council represent their very wealth campaign contributors and certain ethnic populations who work for the wealthy.

(The wealthy think that whatever bad happens won't affect them or their neighborhoods.)
by jam  2010-05-17 12:12:09
I'm from California originally. ALL my FRIENDS and RELATIVES whom I KNOW ARE CONSERVATIVE, so don't put California's all into one bucket.

Amen Jqam!
I too am a native Californian with family in CA who are as disgusted as any normal, thinking, intelligent person is about the demise and destruction of CA.
LA looks like a mexican flea market as do many of TX cities near the borders. It is absolutely sickening to see so many tax dollars wasted on the care/feeding/education/housing/healthcare/crimes of CRIMINAL ALIENS.
by Big Bill  2011-03-06 10:19:12
You are completely correct. The only resolution is to remove the Politicians responsible for this debacle. Perhaps joining a nearby Tea Party group, with a common goal, would be the correct thing to do.
by PURPLE FROG  2010-05-19 15:12:12

Not EVERYTHING out of BEAUTIFUL California is bad, weird, illegal, or corrupt! Unfortunately, as in may other of our states, the idiots seem to be multiplying like fleas!
Go to AZ...show off your CA plates AND your CA intelligence!

Support Arizona%u2019s fight against illegal immigration and oppose the Left%u2019s efforts for a boycott of Arizona. There is a Special Election in Maricopa County, ground zero for Arizona%u2019s fight against illegal immigration, with one candidate who is a West Point Graduate, Gulf War Veteran, and career prosecutor supporting the full and fair implementation of SB1070. He is Bill Montgomery. His opponent, Rick Romley, called for the Governor of Arizona to veto SB1070 the day before she signed it into law. We can show our support around the country by donating the amount of $10.70, in honor of SB1070, to Montgomery%u2019s Campaign. by Dave from San Diego California  2010-05-16 17:37:44
Thank you for being strong and courageous and for passing this law. I hope San Diego and other follow your lead soon. Either we are a nation of laws or not.
by Debbie   2010-05-16 19:11:15
Hurray for Arizona to uphold the law that the federal government has ignored. The government is not protecting our borders, so states have every right to protect its citizens. Immigrants are welcome in America, just come legally.
by Kurt Petersen  2010-05-16 20:40:40
All I'd like to convey to you all in Arizona is that here in North Carolina we are with you in prayers and in spirit, not to mention behind you... You are the courageous ones making the stand and it is needed and commendable. California, the sissy losers, are fighting so hard against you because they are sissys most of all and second because they know that the flood of illeagles will be coming through their state. Their stance is pathetic... but just short of how pathetic our commander and chief is acting. Just know this, you have both friends and support in North Carolina. GOD BLESS YOU, Kurt

I have a ton to say but not enough chars (1000-limit). Even though I'm in GA, I totally support SB1070 but don't think it'll work. Why? It doesn't do enough. I lived overseas (UK) in the private sectotr for quite a few years. SB1070 is tiny compared to the UK. 1) When you come to the country, you assimilate into that country and don't bring yours, meaning, you read, write & speak English. No 2nd-lang. crap; 2) no 2nd chance for employers. You have illegals, its up to 2-yrs jail, and, 10k-GBP PER ILLEGAL. E.g., my town was York, UK. Restaurant had 5-illegals. 50,000-pounds, not dollars, and, jail time. Lesson learned - don't hire 'em; 3) none of this having-a-baby crap. If your parents didn't go through the legal channels to become a citizen, you aren't either, thus, you can be deported as well.
Overall, I felt free'r & safer in the UK than I do back here. Sad, but true.
As for the viewpoints people overseas have about the US, well, thats another sad story of us.

It is the principle of the matter. They must be showed we stand together as Americans and will not allow this intimidation and blackmail of OUR rights. If they overthrow AZ states rights then we are in serious trouble as they know if we win in AZ they are in trouble and would hard pressed to finish putting this Socialist-Marxist Regime upon us.

by  drborange  2010-05-16 23:34:24
What most of the boycotter do not think of is the effect it will have on the people they are trying to support. Loss of revenue will mean less work for those they are supposedly trying to help.

I live in Texas and will not spend money in Austin because of the call for a boycott of Arizona by the Austin City Council. I will call the Mayor tomorrow and tell him that when I travel to Austin in the future I will eat and stay in a hotel outside of Ausin.
by  LizA  2010-05-20 00:21:38
Thats exactly my thought. Maybe it will work out and the illegals will have to flee to Cali because of the lack of jobs (from the boycotts) and the fear of being found out.
by  anonymous (BFE)  2010-05-17 09:44:24
I stand with AZ in this boycott. Our very existance is at stake. We need to secure out border s. The illegals are draining the US of monies that need to stay here. Our Social Security and medicare are at risk for all who have worked so hard for a living and supported the US. Charity begins at home. No other country allows so many illegals to come into their country. Why do we not wake up to the fact we are to soft on the ones who come here and receive welfare, housing, medical care, etc. and have not paid into the system. Its time to stop supporting these people. The US is in a recession like never before and we need to reclaim our country by boycoting all illegal immigrants no matter where they come from. It cost the US millions of dollars just to print ATM's, etc in Spanish. Why do we do this. I am not suprised that all other countries represented in the US have not demanded their language be done likewise. Stop this insantity.
by jam  2010-05-17 12:09:03
What can we do at home if we can't travel to ARizona. I nice sign in the front yard would be nice, I would buy one.

JAM, IF YOU SHOP IN STORES LIEK NEIMAN MARCUS, MACY'S NORDSTROM, ETC, FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU WANT TO BUY, THEN CALL THE SAME STORE IN AZ AND HAVE THOSE ITEMS SHIPPED TO YOU.
YOU WILL NOT PAY STATE SALES TAX AND IN MANY CASES, WILL NOT PAY SHIPPING EITHER.
THEN CALL YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS ANDTELL TEHM WHAT YOU ARE DOING SO THEY CAN APPRECIATE THE IMPACT OF MONEY FLOWING OUT OF THEIR STATE TO SUPPORT AZ!

I can't make the rally on the 29th (I licw in Maryland) but I will be passing through Arizona in July - I have friends and family there - and I will be spending money in Arizona. Arizonans are lucky to have a Governor like Jan Brewer. They're also lucky to be rid of Napolitano. God Bless Arizona!
by Tom Partain  2010-05-23 00:30:28
I am. I wanted to buy the new Robin Hood with Russell Crow bait but since the Aussie is against America then I am against anything from Australia. I have put everyone of Hollywood Matt Demon, Danny Glover, and several others that showed up on the History Channel to spread the propaganda of the Progressive-Socialist-Marxist regime in the RED HOUSE and Hollywood. They are millionaires but they wont get anymore of my money!
by Carol L. Oliwa  2010-05-17 19:01:01
Arizona, this too will pass you have done the right thing in passing that law I am from Connecticut and I stand behind the State of Arizona 100%. What you should do is announce that California is giving away all free medical, dental, money in general and then buy a 1 way ticket to California for all the illegals. Meanwhile I will boycott all California produce.
by Pamela K. Cross  2010-05-17 22:20:33

This is a pretty short putt guys. AZ provides 1/3 of California's Power. Just change the rate at the next contract negotiation to make up for the lost state revenue due to small minded boycotts...Duh.

Kudos to Governor Brewer for criticizing Obama.

Everyone please support the Arizona companies that are being boycotted by the Left. I booked my vacation reservations with Best Western.
by C. Ann C.  2010-05-18 17:56:54
Glad to see at least a few NE states in support of Arizona's law. I'm from RI, and I fully support their law and commend Gov. Jan Brewer for doing what she did. Don't listen to the POTUS, he obviously hasn't read the law, just like Eric Holder admitted he didn't! The morons in the White House only want the votes of the illegals, but by all of us supporting Arizona, and demanding that our own states to follow, will beat them out of this leftist, socialist state of Obama's! I know there are some of you Californians who support Arizona, since I email with 2 from there and they tell me they, along with others in their groups, are fully supporting Arizona's law, so I won't say anything against Californians as a whole, just those who are mindless idiots are the ones who are defiantly pushing against it. Reagan said once that it is "We The People" who tell this government what it can do; not the other way around. Remember that.
by CONNIE  2010-05-19 15:08:31

You are on the right track here and REAL AMERICANS support what you are doing.
I have come to AZ many times each year on vacation and will CONTINUE to support your wonderful state!

FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT JOIN THE RALLY IN AZ: CONSIDER THIS...
CALL the AZ stores like those where you shop in your town. SPEND $. Get stuff shipped! Tell the sales people on the phone WHY you are buying over the phone! THEN...CALL YOUR LOCAL AND STATE OFFICIALS AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO SUPPORT AZ AND HOW MANY DOLLARS ARE GOING OUT OF YOUR STATE TO SUPPORT AZ!
by  anonymous (BFE)  2010-05-19 16:07:10
Why can we not CHARGE mexico for ALL the $ we waste taking care of their? trash?
If America removed dollar for dollar the cost burden of illegals, from any and all foreign aid we give mexico., GUESS WHO WOULD BE GUARDING OUR BORDERS?

Too funny and so true, truth folks and stay the course.
by HINES  2010-05-19 16:08:18
One thing we can all do, is boycott those teams and businesses that support this illegal migration. I am so mad, obama has been told of our security issue, but has already told us he did not care, he wants the latino votes. That makes me feel good. If the mexican president wants action against az (on msn)then obama needs to look at the mexican immigration laws and the federal law. It is written verbatum on the federal law. This is stupid, when other states get involved in someone elses business and has no idea what it is like, their idiots.
Boston city is boycotting az, do you think I care, until they have a massive crime, security and financial problem because of this, then they can drop dead. I am not against immigration , just illegal immigration. This bill has brought out the idiots, everyone says its racist, but the issue is about the illegal criminal act.
by colleen  2010-05-20 09:09:01
My husband and I are actually planning a trip to Arizona because of the new immigration law which just enforces the law on the books. When we visited Phoenix last year, my niece said NOT to run alone after dark because the crime rate is even high in her upper class neighborhood!! Praises to Gov. Jan Brewer and the Arizona Legislature. I hope my Texas Legislature follows suit!
by  sarge1943  2010-05-20 22:30:35
The people of Arizona should e proud of their stand, they are upholding the Constitution and the United States of America. I, as a citizen of Texas, don't understand why the Hispanic peoples who are citizens of these United States are supporting the illegals, it puts them in a bad light, don't these nice folks understand that the Illegals are taking their food, medical and other benefits from them and their families. Draining the food banks, causing long waits at emergency rooms and clinics, and eating up the Social Security System? I believe that true Americans need to stand shoulder to shoulder with Arizona and show solidarity with this brave state. Well Done Arizona !! I served in this countries military for 23 years and am sad to see it turning into a socialist state, so many of my friends and brother military have died to protect our Constitutional rights, they are surely crying in their graves at the State of the Union.

WRONG! There is not a right of passage to immigrate or migrate to the sovereign nation of the United States of America. The immigration process is used to accept whom we desire as future citizens but immigration has never ever been a right and there is no law or constitution with such a wild claim. This is not a %u201Csocial justice%u201D or Socialist-Marxist nation; it is a REPUBLIC not a democracy. Democracies fail. When we protect OUR constitution for OUR people we will not fail as a Protestant-Christian founded REPUBLIC. It%u2019s the law you know. Further more if you cannot assimilate you are not welcome as it is a requirement of the immigration laws. You have to speak, read, write, and understand English. You swear to have only one country you are faithful to or in other words no dual citizenships. You swear to forsake your homeland.
by  Standish  2010-05-23 02:30:35
Since Calderon ahs seen fit to support ilelgal immigration and shattering our laws at eill I think Mexico should be required to make reparations to this antion of every cent illegal aliens have cost us and also double that figure for punitive damages for all the pain, suffering and undue harm that Americans have suffered due to illegal immigration. Its despicable that Mexico has been allowed to profiteer by illegal immigration. Congress should move immediately to demand that Mexico take back it citizens who are in this nation illegally and congress should lodge this suit on behalf of all lawful citizens and legal immigrants of the United States of America. Arizona and all the states that have been devastated by illegal aliens should be repaid the funds that have been extracted from them against their will necessitated in dealing with illegal aliens and illegal immigration. Why should we continue to pay the price for Mexican profiteering?

CAN'T STAND WITH AZ ANY MORE THAN I DO NOW. I LIVE IN DANBURY, CT. AND WE HAVE MORE THAN OUR SHARE OF ILLEGALS HERE AND WE WISH OUR MAYOR/GOVERNOR HAD THE GUTS TO DO THE SAME AS AZ BUT THEY DON'T. WE ARE TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO VISIT THE GRAND CANYON JUST TO SUPPORT AZ BUT DON'T WANT TO FLY OR DRIVE IN A CAR. HOPEFULLY WE'LL FIND A WAY TO GET THERE IN JULY OR SOONER. SORRY AZ HAS TO SUFFER FINANCIALLY BUT THEY ARE ALREADY SUFFERING FROM THE ILLEGAL ALIENS SO IF THEY CAN SURVIVE THE BOYCOTT IT WILL BE WORTH IT. GOD WILL BLESS ALL THE AZ STANDING AGAINST THE ILLEGAL ALIEN HORROR. GOD DOES NOT LIKE UGLY.

Why don't we just get a list of those boycotting Arizona and boycott them?
by  1oldman  2010-06-14 08:48:00
In Colorado, 500,000 illegal migrants, plus their 300,000 kids and grand-kids - would move back 'home', mostly to Mexico. That would save Coloradans an estimated $2 billion (other experts say $7 billion) annually, in taxes that pay for schooling, medical, social-services and incarceration costs. It means 12,000 gang members would vanish out of Denver alone. Colorado would save more than $20 million in prison costs, and the terror that those 7,300 alien criminals set upon local citizens. Denver Officer Don Young and hundreds of Colorado victims would not have suffered death, accidents, rapes and other crimes by illegal%u2019s. Denver Public Schools would not suffer a 67 percent drop-out/flunk-out rate because of thousands of illegal alien students speaking 41 different languages. At least 200,000 vehicles would vanish from our gridlocked cities in Colorado.
Denver's four percent unemployment rate would vanish as our working poor would gain jobs at a living wage.

In Florida,

Bless your heart Gov Brewer for making a stand, I stand with you. We need to stand, having done all,Stand. End of discussion.
No illegals, no amnesty. Tell them go home fix their own country. dont'bring yourself here unless you do it right. Judge you should be ashamed of yourself poking holes in the law. You will regret making this decision. Our "leaders' should be ashamed that we have no support from DC, well maybe individual people. We surely are living in the last days but while we are waiting,we are to occupy,& do the work before us. We will not tolerate invasion in our own country. the very first one who gets hurt or killed by an illegal, hold our leaders responsible, the blood is on their hands. God bless us with wisdom. we surley need it. Make them walk back to Mexico. we are not paying for it, cept maybe pregant women and babies. Children shouldn't pay for parents mistakes,Seek HIM while there is times.Rev Whitedove Apple

When times are bad," remember the Alamo ". Oppressed people aiming at a single goal can never be defeated. Hopefully the BUY COTT will become an intricate part of Arizona's total recovery and the down fall of the democratic party and obamanation.
